Kabayan!

How amazed each one of us every time we see a stranger who looks exactly like us. Just a smile away and brings our thoughts about home.

San ka sa ‘tin? Is the next inquiry that will surely consider the person to keep as a friend or just an acquaintance.

In applying for a factory work, most of the time, resident workers prefer to invite those applicants who come from their provinces or region. This is the character trait undeniably rampant among us even here in Korea.

The tayu-tayo, kami-kami, sila-sila lang mentality is one of the hindrances why our country is presently far behind compare to our Asian neighbors when it comes to socio-economic stability. This is also the menace that would pull down each one of us towards division that eventually lead to misunderstanding and chaotic situations. pale

However, there’s a common goodness among us-faith. Every Sunday in Hyehwa as we pass by the narrow street where a number of Pinoys gather for their weekend would not be complete without walking to that crowded rendezvous.. Every time we pass by thru it, we’re enjoying our group without minding anybody else. But as we approach the church, we don’t care anymore where we from, for we gathered and blessed by the Holy Spirit.

We’re here in this foreign land for we seek greener pasture and be ambassadors of goodwill, too. We should prove to the foreign community how strongly united we Pinoys are.

Nevertheless, if a certain Juan or Juana de la Cruz knocks on your door one day. Give the kind treatment to which we’re known for. With open arms, whether he or she comes from Luzon, Visayas or Mindanao, give the chance of proving the required skills and talents. Get rid off the “island” in this peninsula for everyone of us is absolutely belongs to one Pinoy race as well as One Christian Faith.

Let us give justice and truth on the endearing term in which we’re used to, just to prove of who we really are, Kabayan. I love you

thank you for the information.

i agree on your article...we must not have the kanya-kanya, sila-sila. kami-kami. honestly i experienced that sometime...i barely understand them because according to them i doesn't look like a filipino...unity is the most sensible thing in the foriegn land...
