Industrial trainees' Controversy Empty Industrial trainees' Controversy

Post by reeve Sat Apr 19, 2008 12:40 am

Industrial Trainees' Retirement Allowance / Severance Pay ( Toe Jik Guem)-The Ministry of Labor (MOL) did not guarantee retirement allowance , annual paid leave, protection of a pregnant woman etc. ( first year of employment -D3 ) embodied in the Labor Standard Act " Regulation on Employment and Protection of Foreign Industrial Trainees"...

The GOOD NEWS!!!

The Korean Constitutional Court last August 30, 2007 ruled that the Ministry of Labor's policy is UNCONSTITUTIONAL and INFRINGED the right to equality. Therefore, it can be expected that an industrial trainee who is working as a worker will get paid wages and maybe paid retirement allowance ( Toe Jik Guem).

This i really a good news! Can you download the original copy of the Korean Court's ruling? Also, after this ruling what happen to the MOL policy for D3? Are they following the court's decision now? I think that is the most important thing to know for the D3 foreign workers.
