just remove the NORTH and SOUTH so does to make the statement correct

anyways it just caught my attention coz as far as i know there are 7 continents that comprises the earth.. thus removing NORTH and SOUTH just make it 6?
or has it been change lately
and all i can say that AMERICA or COMMONLY known as THE UNITED STATES OF AMEERICA alone is part of the CONTINENT in the NORTH america:)
