IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR APPLICANTS TO THE

KOREAN EMPLOYMENT PERMIT SYSTEM (EPS)

1. All applicants interested to work in Korea’s manufacturing sector under the
Employment Permit System (EPS) must first pass a Test of Proficiency in Korean
(TOPIK), otherwise known previously as EPS-Korean Language Test (KLT).

2. For guidance on TOPIK registration requirements and procedures, all applicants
are advised to read the POEA Advisory No. 20, series of 2010 and the related
Announcement of the HRD Korea for the 7th Test of Proficiency in Korean
(TOPIK) or previously called Korean Language Test (KLT) which are published in
the POEA (www.poea.gov.ph) and DOLE (www.dole.gov.ph) websites. Instructions
on how to fill up the TOPIK Registration Form properly, including the correct
picture to be attached are also available in the POEA website.

3. To ensure that only qualified individuals will go through the process and incur
expenses for application, all concerned are reminded of the following:


a. Register online and indicate Korea as the country of preference and report to
POEA central office or regional centers, as may be appropriate, for validation of
documentary requirements to shorten the registration for TOPIK.

b. If previously registered with the POEA e-registration system
(www.poea.gov.ph), activate the applicant’s account and indicate Korea as
country of preference in order to be included in the pre-qualification for TOPIK.

c. Previous warnings are being reiterated for persons who are disqualified not to
continue with the application. Even if they still managed to be selected, their
efforts will just be useless later on as they will be denied entry to Korea and
worse, be repatriated back to the Philippines, as what happened to some who
did not listen to the warnings of the POEA and HRD Korea. Those who are
disqualified are:

 Persons with previous record of illegal immigration or overstaying in Korea

 Overage or beyond 38 years old by 15 November 1972

 Persons with criminal record and restricted to travel abroad


4. Korean employers reportedly prefer male over female workers so that female
applicants should weigh their chances against the effort and expenses they will
incur, considering that inclusion in the Roster of Jobseekers is not a guarantee
for employment.

5. TOPIK registration will be simultaneously conducted on 20-23 September 2010 in
the following venues:


a. Mandaluyong City Gymnasium for the National Capital Region

b. Bren Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga

c. POEA Regional Extension Unit in Baguio City

d. POEA Regional Center for the Visayas in Cebu City

e. POEA Regional Center for Mindanao in Davao City


Applicants should register for the TOPIK in the area/region where they intend to
take the examination.

Series of 2010
The Human Resource Development Service of Korea (HRD Korea) in
cooperation with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA)
will conduct another Employment Permit System-Korean Language Test
(EPS-KLT) now called Employment Permit System-Test of Proficiency in
Korean (EPS-TOPIK) this year on November 14, 2010. Registration for the

EPS-KLT (EPS-TOPIK) is set from September 20 to 23, 2010.

Registration
venues will be announced or posted at the POEA and DOLE websites.

Only
those who are registered with the POEA E-Registration System and included
in the POEA Manpower Registry are qualified to register for the EPS-KLT
(EPS-TOPIK).
Interested applicants for employment in Korea who are not registered
with the POEA E- Registration System are advised to register online via
www.poea.gov.ph. Those who are presently registered and who have not yet
taken or passed the EPS-KLT (EPS-TOPIK) and who are interested to pursue
employment in Korea must have an active registration status in order to be
included in the manpower pool for Korea. Only those with active registration
status as of September 19, 2010 are qualified to register for the
EPS-KLT
(EPS-TOPIK) which will be conducted on November 14, 2010.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR EPS-KLT REGISTRATION (For Korea)

􀀹 Must be between 18 years of age and not more than 38 years old on
November 14, 2010 (those born between November 15, 1972 And
November 15, 1992)

􀀹 Must be physically and mentally fit

􀀹 Must not have any record of conviction or imprisonment for a heinous
crime

􀀹 Must have no record of deportation or departure orders from the
Republic of Korea

􀀹 Must not be restricted from departure from the Philippines

􀀹 Must be e-Registered with active status in the POEA Manpower


Registry

Applicants who are already actively e-registered with the POEA Manpower

Registry shall be notified to appear on scheduled dates for pre-qualification

add ko lang.. magdala na rin ng 3x4 picture na red background at with name tag, dami rin kc nagsasabi from klt 6 passer na ganito ang kelangan.. para handa thanks po

6. Things to bring on registration day
a. Registration card for pre-qualified applicants
b. Birth certificate for applicants not yet pre-qualified
c. Valid passport or identification card with picture and date of birth and a
photocopy for pasting in the EPS-TOPIK (KLT) registration form
d. Black ink ballpen
e. 2 pieces passport size colored picture (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) taken recently
and shows a full face with no hat.
f. Registration fee of Php 800.00
7. Registration Steps
Step 1: Queuing stage to secure a transaction number
Numbers on a first-come-first-served basis will be distributed at the
Holding/Queuing Area.
Step 2: Validation and issuance of Registration Form
Applicants who have been prequalified will be immediately issued a
registration form while those who have not been pre-qualified will
undergo evaluation before getting the registration form to be filled
out. The registration form must be carefully filled out according to
the instructions and a photocopy of passport or valid ID card and
two (2) pictures will be pasted on the spaces provided in the form.
Step 3: Receiving and issuance of Order of Payment
The Order of Payment will be issued by POEA after submission of
the accomplished registration form.
Step 4: Payment of Php800 registration fee
The registration fee will be paid to Landbank or duly authorized
POEA collection officer.
Step 5: Registration and releasing of Test Permit
The names of the applicants will be encoded in the database
before releasing the Test Permit which should be brought to the
assigned test venue on the day of the examination. Registered
applicants without the Test Permit or who misplaced the
same shall not be allowed to take the test.

conducted on 20-23 September 2010 in the following venues:
a. Mandaluyong City Gymnasium for the National Capital Region
b. Bren Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga
c. POEA Regional Extension Unit in Baguio City
d. POEA Regional Center for the Visayas in Cebu City
e. POEA Regional Center for Mindanao in Davao City
Applicants should register for the EPS-TOPIK (KLT) in the area/region where
they intend to take the examination.
3. For guidance on EPS-TOPIK (KLT) registration requirements and procedures, all
applicants are advised to read the POEA Advisory No.20, series of 2010 and
the related Announcement of the HRD Korea for the 7th Test of Proficiency
