computation of salary
sir ask lng po 1.5 million n po sahod namin at naka fix n p kami..bale 1,380.000 n po s amin yong 120,000 won nmn po ay sa kukmin at health..kung susundin po ba yong 2010 labor contract magkano po kaya? yagan chugan po kami mula 7 pm to 8 am. at pag chugan nmn po ay ay 8 am to 7 pm..bale hanggan sabado po pasok nmin..pag linggo po ay ot po yon s amin..3 kaming hwiguk saram at 5 po n korean libre nmn po lahat pagkain namin at tirahan..kaya ask ko lng po kung ok po yong 1.5 million at yong totoong computation po para di n po kami mag pa release..yong sabado po namin kasama n po yan sa 1.5 miilion kahit yagan po kami pinapasokan po namin yan at kahit chugan...salamat po s agad nyong reply po at mabuhay pong muli ang sulyapinoy

ur company is under ng 44-hrs work week system... meaning 8-hrs regular work Mo~Fri plus 4-hrs Sat... and based on 2010 wage rate, ur basic salary must be 928,860won...
if posisble, scan ur payslip and email me para ma-verify natin... but i'll give u an example on how to compute... my example below is based on monthly shifting following ur working time Mon~Sat...
dayshift (주간):
-> working from 8am ~ 7pm, Mon~Fri (with 1hr breaktime) = 10-hrs/day (so, 2-hrs OT/day)
-> working Sat, 8am ~ 7pm (with 1hr breaktime) = 10-hrs (10hrs - 4hrs = 6-hrs OT/sat)
-> for ex. month of April = 30 days (22 weekdays & 4 saturdays)
-> so, 22days x 2hrs + 4sat x 6hrs = 44hrs + 24hrs = 68hrs
-> ur total OT salary per month = 4110won x 68hrs x 1.5 = 419,220won
-> so, ur total salary per month must be = 928,860won (basic) + 419,220won = 1,348,080 won
nightshift (야간):
-> working from 7pm ~ 8am, Mon~Fri (with 1hr breaktime) = 12-hrs/day (4-hrs OT/day)

based on the above computations, i think the discrepancy of the calculations of our monthly salary is a matter of concern. If i may ask, how would you compute our monthly salary if our working schedule goes like this:
yagan / chugan (weekly rotation)
chugan:
08:30am - 11:00pm (monday to friday)
08:30am - 07:30pm (saturday)
08:30am - 05:30pm (sunday)
01:00pm - 02:00pm (breaktime)
*more or less 15 minutes breaktime after 7:30pm for dinner

sir dave pls compute mine, kesok po ako pang gabi, paano po icompute ung salary ko, from feb. 25 to march 24 yan ang kinocompute ng ofce sa sahod nmn bwan bwan, pasok ko sir simula 730 pm to 8 am mon-fri pag sat, 630pm to 6 am... every nyt po 30 mins lng breaktime ko isang sabao lang po ang rest day ko, ang sinasahod ko sir nsa 1.8 lang po. lagi ako nagrreklamo sa ofce kaso d nmn kami magkaintindhan ng amo ko, gusto ko po sana magawan nyo ng computation sa akin, both in english and korean, or khit sa korean nlng sir. salamat po.. under po kmi ng 44hrweek system

Thank you so much for such a quick response on my query. I sincerely appreciate the time you spent making a very detailed computation of my supposed monthly salary according to a given working hours. Certainly, it would be of great help not only to me but to all EPS workers who have questions regarding their salaries. Now, I understand very clearly how our monthly salary should be computed because true enough, there really was a big discrepancy on what we are receiving previously. With this, I would be able to talk with my co-EPS workers and eventually ask our employer regarding this matter.

about sa salary mo, yung 1,050,000won na basic salary mo, ilang oras po ba kayo nagtatrabaho nyan? just try to compare... 2010 basic salary at 44-hrs work week system (for companies with 20 or more employees) is 928,860won (regular working at 8hrs Mon~Fri, & 4-hrs Sat) while 2010 basic salary at 40-hrs work week system (for companies less than 20 employees) is 858,990won (regular working at 8hrs Mon~Fri)...
if you work overtime, your salary per hour must be 6,165won...
take note, sundays are considered paid holiday... kahit walang work may sweldo ka at kasama na yan sa basic salary... in case may work kayo ng sunday, you should have addtional salary of 6,165won per hour
about naman sa vacation leave... if your company has 5 or more employees, you are entitled for a paid vacation leave per year... (10~15days)... if hindi yan nagamit, it is convertible to cash and must be given to you if aalis ka na sa company...
yung approval naman sa leave, the condition of your work must be given a priority first... for example, if nagpaalam ka na umuwi ng Pinas for 15-days on May 1~15, but based on production schedule, malakas at makaka-affect ang absence mo, your employer have the right not to approve ur leave but your employer must give options para mabigyan ka ng leave... like rescheduling your leave... in short, vacation leave schedule must be agreed upon between worker and employer...
if the employer will not grant your leave request without any valid reason, that's already a violation of the labor law... in that case, pwede ka na magfile ng petition sa labor office kung hindi ayaw talaga pumayag ang amo kahit nagpaalam ka ng mabuti...

-> for auto-computation (just input your monthly taxable salary on the given box): click HERE
2) second, is Year-end Tax Settlement... every January of the succeeding year, we must file a Year-end Tax Settlement thru our respective employer... this is the time where we can determine if we can receive a tax refund or we need to pay more... how to compute our Year-end Tax? click HERE
Note: In the auto-computation, input your total monthly withholding tax based on your payslip, choose the 30% exemption method, input your total NPS and Health Insurance contribution for one year based on your payslip...

new case nman i accidentally wounded myself last tuesday night on duty po ako ng nangyari yung accident, nahiwa po yung gilid ng palad malalim kya tinahi 6 stitches po,doctor advise me not to work hangang s gumaling e2 sugat...inasikaso nman po ako ng amo ko..ang tanong ko po paano ko magamit insurance n kinakaltas sa sweldo ko, at bayad po ba ang araw n hindi ako makakapasok??2 days n po ko leave...oras po ng trabaho at s trabaho po ako n aksidente!......maraming salamat po sana masagot nyo po ako...

about ur injury which related sa work, all medical expenses and medicine shall be paid by your employer thru Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance (IACI)...
if you can't work less than 4-days as advised by doctor, your employer must pay you 70% of your daily basic salary... but if your medical treatment leave is 4-days or more, the insurance company which is COMWEL (Korea Labor Welfare Corporation) handling the Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance will pay 70% of your daily basic salary... just visit the local office for your application or you may ask help from your employer... or you can call COMWEL main office at 02-2670-0319 (english available) if you have further inquiries...

1 week ako pinag rerest ng doctor s monday nya ko pinababalik for check up..malamang more than 1 week ako leave n2 s work..kailngan ko p po b mag fill up ng form s kanila or i just have to report it n lang s kanila..di ko po kc alam opis nila..

hindi naman ako magaling... all my answers were just based according to what i have researched and understand sa mga nabasa kong documents and websites related to Korean labor and immigration laws...
i did study them because i know the needs of my fellow kababayans here in SKorea particularly the EPS workers...
dati na ako dito but nagstop ng ilang buwan due to some issues but since nakita ko ang needs, now i'm back...

1 week ako pinag rerest ng doctor s monday nya ko pinababalik for check up..malamang more than 1 week ako leave n2 s work..kailngan ko p po b mag fill up ng form s kanila or i just have to report it n lang s kanila..di ko po kc alam opis nila..

according to COMWEL application procedure for Accident Insurance, you need to fill-up application form that can be found only at the COMWEL office and you also need to provide medical certificate issued by the hospital...
just call COMWEL Office for more details...
