" If law does'nt apply to all, Useless at all", These is the fierce annoying phenomenon in SMEs with foreign workers employees.There are so many "Cowboy outfits"and "fat cats" in the SMEs business community Here In South Korea. They deliberately dodged the EPS workers legitimate benefits , and to mention some; The anual and monthly paid leave system, The departure gaurantee insurance right computation,, night defferential pay, the overtime pay and for female foreign workers did you know that you have 1 day leave with pay if you have a monthly period, for company which implementing 44 hrs work week?Who among of you receive these compensation voluntarily given to you by your employer?May be if there are they very lucky....
The employers unethical practiced was manifested in the report of WEF( World Economic Forum) last 2009 Sep. 09 in Korean Times Top stories, according to WEF the most weakness of Korea in"Labor market rigidity" ," very poor in employers and employees relation"also mention That Korea is 3rd to the last in ranking in this category. It coincide also to the report of OECD member economy.
Now happened to vision of The South Korea in the UN to be the model of Labor importing country?And also the mission and vision of President Lee to elevate the status
South Korea in the international communities in terms economic,legal,ethical political and cultural areas?I hope that he must first address the labor problems here especially the workers in under the EPS. And for us EPS workers the big set back in the Labor Standard Act the definition of worker for me is not acceptable.Finally, I hope that the Ministry of Labor will not insensitive with regard to EPS workers problem.
