FEWA Supports 'Protect and Secure OFW Fund' Online Signature Campaign
Fellow OFWs in South Korea:
The Filipino EPS Workers Association (FEWA) is calling your full support to the ongoing Online Signature Campaign spearheaded by the Migrante-Middle East as our strong support to protect and secure OFWs Fund (our 10-Billion Peso OWWA membership contribution).
The Online Petition Letter is to demand and call for the following...
1) We demand a "hands off" undertaking of the funds by Malacanang to avoid possible maneuvering of the disbursement of funds for use to perpetuate its own political and electoral agenda;
2) The funds must be made an open and direct support to OFWs laid off from jobs to be facilitated by OWWA, subject to auditing by the Commission on Audit;
3) Portion of the P1-B funds must be allocated for the revival of social and welfare benefits programs previously offered by OWWA to OFWs and their families; the Office of the President is urged to put an additional P2-Billion or more from its Social funds;
4) Creation of a special Congressional oversight committee with representation from OFWs and their organizations and Church leaders that will look after the disbursement of the funds and ensure that it will go to the rightful beneficiaries.
By registering your name online, you're showing your concern and manifestation of our collective action for OFWs rights and general welfare. Please click the Link Bar below for the Online Signature Campaign details.

Re: FEWA Supports 'Protect and Secure OFW Fund' Online Signature Campaign
This is how desperate the arroyo government has to generate funds in every way they can no matter where the source is. The NPS-SSS, SSS and now the OWWA funds.The said fund would be part of the stimuli(or stealmuli) package /now,OWWA funds for the casualties of global economic crisis. This might sound alarming but no surprise if the Arroyo govenment will divert this fund for their political advantage.Despite of huge ofw remittances that help our economy on stable level, OFW's funds and benefits to be, still the hard target of the government as the milking cow.We OFW's are best in the world market, selling like hot cakes.never far from ukay-ukay being bargained on the streets. Even we got brains,we chose to work outside the philippines because there were no jobs to fill-in. We accept the D's job, Dangerous,Difficult, Dirty, Discriminating,Degrading,etc.. They said we are the modern day's heroes, ironically,yes.Because we are being killed softly,squeezed and sucked 'til the last drop. But don't even expect a monument to build for us, it's too costly to be funded by our govenment. A P50k each could hardly spare for.
Let's us support and unite to protect our rights as an OFW. Please be counted and sign up.
