Mga Kabayan,

Good news for EPS Workers who are currently scheduled to be rehired... I got an answer from the Ministry of Labor office by phone regarding the E-9 Visa Issuance suspension issue... Please refer below...


Question:
Is the recent news about suspension of E-9 visa isuance also affecting current EPS workers scheduled to be rehired or re-employed or only affecting to new E-9 visa applicants?


Answer:
The suspension of E-9 visa isuance until February this year is only applicable to all E-9 visa applicants from their respective sending countries.

We would also like to inform you that a new quota of Foreign Workforce between March 2009 and February 2010 will be set next February this year. This year's new quota and last year's quota will have no effect on foreign workers who are currently or to be scheduled for re-employment.

me posibilidad pa po ba ma extend ang dating angency na naging eps, bali po 3 yrs ako angency tapos naextend ako ng 3yrs ulit E9-2 ang visa ko, bali matatapos na ang contract ko ngayung oct 2010, d po ba kami cover ng bagong batas ng korea? salamat po

kabayan,

based on eps employment act, ung 3 yrs under agency po ay counted na rin as eps in terms of sojourn period dito sa Korea... so kung na extend ka na for another 3-years under eps (3 yrs agency + 3 yrs eps = 6yrs), this oct. 2010 will be ur last stay in Korea...

u can still come back to Korea under eps after 6-months but u need to take and pass KLT exam and be hired again thru POEA...

malamang po ay hindi na kasi po base sa pinalabas na requirements sa age ay 18-38 years old lang po eh... pero magtanugn padin po kayu sa poea for sure

yes, the company can directly hire you but under E-7 visa only... because that's the only working visa in Korea applicable for manufacturing industry...

but di po madali yan para sa company na maghahire sayo... they have to submit valid proofs that they must hire you because they cannot hire a Korean national considering the skills needed for the job...

they must get an approval or a recommendation from a Korean government department which has a jurisdiction of the skills needed by the company...

one more thing, you as an applicant, must also show your educational background related to the position/job needed by the company...

kabayang nikkique,

tama po si lhai... hanggang 38 lang po ang limit para maka pag-apply uli ng Korea under EPS... but under E-7 visa, wala pong limit...

sir in my case 3 years na po ako na re contract na po ako as a e-9 bakit po wala na ang 2 dati kasi akong e-9-2 but same company pa den me sa manufacture ang job ko ...my question is pareho lang po ba to at may roon pa po ba akong reles na dalawa ? .... sa mga nakakaalam help naman po sir need ko lang maliwanagan

hi monte,

as long as you're under e-9 visa (regardless of e-9-x), the sojourn period and number of release is the same... so, after you were re-hired for another 3-years (under old policy), you are entitled for another 3 times release...

but under new policy effective Dec. 10, 2009, you are only entitled for 2-times release within your less than 2 years of sojourn extension...

kabayan,

wala po akong narinig na balita about that... until now, hindi pa rin priority ng Korean Government to give amnesty to all unregular foreign workers dito sa Korea...

kabayan,

per EPS policy ito lang po ang mga benefits na maaring matanggap ng isang foreign worker under EPS pagkatapos ng 3 or 6 years or 5yrs & 10 months (based on new policy) in total... separation pay or teojigeum, return cost insurance (ung 400k), at kukmin or NPS lump-sum refund... if yung paid leave ninyo ay hindi pa nagagamit, pwede din yan maconvert in cash... other than that wala na po...

kabayan musta po ulit? totoo po ba na nangangailangan ng 35,000 na pinoy ang korea? kc po yang ang balita ngayun sa pinas at bakit po lahat ng nag apply sa poea nung isang araw pinag bayad na agad cla ng 800 pesos para sa klt, d po ba dapat medical muna para alam nila na fit to work cla bago mag klt? maraming salamat po ulit..

Voluntary exit program launched for illegal aliens

The government will launch an incentive program aimed at encouraging foreign workers who overstayed their visa to leave the country "voluntarily," the Ministry of Justice said Monday.

Under the program, those who exit will be exempt from fines and will not be regulated on a possible revisit to the country.

The authorities are aiming to reduce the number of illegal sojourners here ― estimated at 180,000 ― before the G-20 Summit slated for November.

The program will run from May 6 to September 31.

Employers who come clean with such workers will also be granted exemptions from fines and be given priority in recruiting substitute workers.

The workers will have to report to immigration offices at airports with their employer, passport and flight ticket to confirm departure.

Apart from this campaign, immigration officers and police will conduct a joint crackdown on illegal foreign workers, who have mostly entered Korea on an E-9 visa and stayed after authorization expired. Those caught will be fined and deported. Employers will be fined up to 20 million won and be restricted from hiring a replacement for three years.

"We are giving incentives to those who come clean about their wrongdoings. However, there will be no mercy once they are caught ― more penalties will be given," ministry official Yoon Jong-seok said.

According to the ministry, there are 178,163 foreigners staying here without valid visas, about 15.1 percent of the total 1,180,598 foreign residents. About half of them are Chinese, including ethnic Koreans, followed by Vietnamese, Thais, Mongolians and Filipinos among others. As of March, only 5,226 have turned themselves into the authorities, while 4,826 were caught and deported..

sir,help me please...im so worried po...ganito po yun...nung 2005 pumunta po ako sa korea,bale c-3 (tourist/short term)visa,with invitation, ang hawak ko noon.pero hindi na ako umuwi,nagtnt ako for over 3yrs doon,hindi ako nagwork,dun lang ako sa bahay ng tita ko nag-stay.then nung dec.2008 umuwi po ako ng pinas.nagvoluntary exit po ako sa takot na mahuli at dala ang pag-asang mkakabalik ng korea(sabi nila)..i took the 6th KLT at awa ng Dyos im sure na makakapasa ako...eto po ang tanong ko...if ever po na makapasa nga ako sa KLT at medical,at makasama sa rooster,payagan kaya ako ng Immigration to enter korea?i mean,hindi kaya ako maharang nang dahil dun sa pagttnt ko?sabi po kc nung friends ko,basta daw over a year na nag-stay sa pinas after mo magvoluntary exit,pwede na daw bumalik ng korea?dagdag ko lang po,nung tnt pa po ako,single pa po ako,ngaun,iba na passport ko kasi nagchange status na ako,iba na surname at passport # ko...makabalik pa po kaya ako sa south korea tru EPS?...kung meron man po sa inyong pareho ng case sa akin or kung may mga kakilala po kayong may ganitong case,please help me po...worried po kasi ako bka po kasi kahit makasama ako sa rooster e maharang nman ako ng immigration...marami po kasi nagsasabi na pwede daw akong bumalik ng korea bastat over a year na akong nag-stay d2 sa pina after ko mga voluntary exit nung dec 2008..thank you po sa lahat...

○ In Korea, most foreigners who have been stayed illegally and departed are not allowed to enter Korea within a specified period. The period of entry prohibition is generally from 6 months to 5 years decided based on a year and some of the cases will be unlimited.
○ Prohibition of entry depends on a period of illegal stay or a type of violation of the law. The period of entry prohibition might be shortened in case he/she is willing to depart with his/her own intent Korea. Please, consider a voluntary departure.
