sa hiring, yung new EPS applicants ay suspended muna ang visa issuance so wala munang tatanggapin na new EPS aplicants from Philippines...
but sa mga re-hire, tuloy po ang process unless merong employer na willing magrehire sa inyo...

The government said Tuesday that it will stop issuing E-9 work visas until next year as the number of foreign workers arriving here on the visa reached the annual quota of 72,000 for the period March 2008 to February 2009.
Officials said a new quota will be set next February after taking into account overall labor market conditions, but added it was unlikely to be increased due to the shrinking job market here in the wake of slumping global economy, and the government''s priority in creating jobs for Koreans.
Labor experts expect competition to win E-9 visas to become fiercer next year.
``This is the first time that the number of applicants has exceeded the quota since the introduction of Work Permit Program in 2004,'''' said Park Byeong-gi, an official from the Ministry of Labor. He pointed out that an increase in the number of foreign workers renewing their contracts was the primary reason the quota was filled early.
According to the ministry, of 34,750 foreigners who received E-9 visas in 2006, most of them renewed their visas this year.
``Most E-9 holders applied for an extension and combined with new applicants, the total number of visas issued reached the annual ceiling,'''' Park said.
To prevent possible manpower shortage at firms relying on foreign workers following the suspension, the ministry plans to allocate those asking to change their workplaces to companies in need.
The number of foreign workers asking relocation jumped to 6,707 in December as a growing number of small and mid-size companies went bankrupt or shut down in the aftermath of the sluggish economy. Nine out of ten foreigners here on E-9 visas work at small-sized companies, Park said.
Under the law, those asking to change their workplace must find a new company within two months after their application, or leave the country.

kabayang jakajon,
i still have to confirm the Ministry of Labor on the details about E9 Visa issuance suspension... but in my personal point of view, hindi po kasali ang rehire dyan... because the ang basic reason why may rehire is because an employer needs a worker thats why i-rehire nya ang kanyang current worker... if walang rehire tapos wala na ring new applicants, saan na siya kukuha ng new foreign workers? so for me, the suspension of E9 visa issuance is only affecting to new E9 visa applicants...
but as i have said, i still need to confirm this to the MOL to validate my statement... just keep posted in our website...

gandang araw kabayang misterdj...u could see this post sa molab.go.kr, under What's In Press column then page #2 No.2151 ang title po ng post nila ay Visa for Foreign Workers Suspended... it was also published sa korea times dated Dec.31,2008 try to open this website din po: http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/nation/2008/12/117_37017.html d2 ko rin po ito nalaman... i just want to make sure na yung pinost ko po ay hindi hearsay lang or just taken somewhere..it was based on facts po. mhirap pong magpost ng wlang facts kya po share ko lang..but correct me if i am wrong din..ksi po the way i understood this, ang apektado po n2 ay yung mga waiting for klt exam, waiting for employer from Phils and other countries..ksi marmi pong umaasa fom other countries...hopefully tyong mga EPS na and2 na sa korea ay hindi apektado sa non-issuance of visa, since may employer na tyo and we could find also employer here... just corrrect me na lang po. salamat po at mabuhay po ang sulyapinoy...God bless u all!

I tried to call MOL Office this morning but it said na wala daw available na English agent today... I will call again tomorrow for further confirmation of this issue.
By the way, I got a latest news from the Korea Times. Part of the news, it stated that...
"The Ministry of Labor announced last Tuesday that it would stop issuing E-9 visas until February as the number of foreign workers arriving here reached the annual quota of 72,000 for the period between March 2008 and February this year. They are to begin re-issuing the visa in February after setting a new quota, the ministry said."
In the above statement, we can say that the suspension of Visa Issuance for EPS (E-9 Visa) is effective until February this year only. Once the Korean government thru MOL finalized the new quota for each sending countries, they will start re-issuing E-9 Visa again.
But with regards to the question whether visa for "rehire" is included in the suspension or not, let me give more time to confirm to the MOL.

ask ko lng kung ung mare-rehire na eps kung pwede hind umuwi sa pinas ng 1 month? kc ung kasama ko end na ung contract nya this coming march...

So far wla pa kami confirmation about that, sumulat po tayo sa ating Embassy upang hingin ang kanilang tulong.If matuloy yan mukhang wala na tayo maipon.
Ang totoo marami sa atin nuon pa hindi libre ang bahay at pagkain.

on-going pa po ang review ng bill sa National Assembly for EPS 5-years Sojourn period na kung saan pwede nang hindi uuwi ng Pinas ang worker if ma-rehire...
hindi pa po implemented ang bill as of today... we don't know pa the when is the exact implementation date kasi nga hindi pa tapos ang National Assembly... thanks!

wala pa po tayong na-receive na final confirmation from the MOL and the Phil. Embassy about the implementation... actually we already sent a letter to the Phil. Embassy last November requesting their help to reject this plan... sana may positive result na maibigay ang Phil. Embassy thru POLO about sa request natin...
we will also continuously monitor the status of this issue... we will inform you immediately once we get any latest updates... salamat po...
