hello uwekorea,

normally, ang mga kababayan natin dito sa Korea na may F1 Visa ay yung mga household workers ng mga foreign diplomats kasi mas madali silang ma-approve ng Korean immigration if sila ang mag-sponsor... pero, actually malawak po ang coverage ng F1 Visa... maraming options na pwedeng magsponsor sayo as long as qualified din yung mag-iisponsor... please refer below for more details...

Family Visitation (F-1)

Application Eligibility:

1) Those seeking stay for the purpose of visiting relatives, living with family, getting support, household maintenance or other similar purposes.

2) Korean nationals that have obtained foreign nationality, and granted special domestic stay by Minister of Justice (excluding the one applicable to overseas Korean status)

3) Household servants of diplomatic and consular personnel in Korea

4) A housekeeper of foreign investors (representatives, executives and staff ) who maintain a corporate investment(D8), Residency(F-2), Permanent residency(F-5) status or a foreign investor who earns triple the average persons Gross National Income of the previous year, that is noticed in the Korean National Bank.
* Gross national income per person of 2008 was 2,120 man won (KW) (US 19,231 dollar). You can contact the Korean National Banks economy control departments, National Income Team at (02-759-4450), for more information about national income ,
* Range of executives and staff: the field of required specialty who are EXCUTIVES or SENIOR MANAGERS
- In the case of investor who invested less than US 500,000 dollars they must meet the following qualifications.
Companies in the high-tech information business field that hire 3 full-time Korean workers.
* High-tech information business field: Korea Institute for Advancement of technology (http://www.goldcard.or.kr) make an object that 8 high-technology field are considered for issues of Gold card [technique management, Nano, digital electromagnetic, bio, transport and machinery, e-commerce (including IT), environment and energy] affiliated organization for the Ministry of Knowledge Economy.
- The housekeeper has to be a graduate from junior high school or equivalent of a junior high school scholarship, be between the ages of 20 to 55 (standards of the application), and only possible to apply by sponsor's visa issuance.

5) Intra-company transfer(D-7), Trade management(D-9), Professor(E-1), Foreign language instructor(E-2), Research(E-3), Technological guidance(E-4), special profession(E-5), Culture/Art(E-6),Specially designated activities(E-7) status holder(who has an alien registration card) housekeeper – foreign investor who earn money 4 times that of 1 person’s Gross National Income of the previous year that are noticed in the Korea National Bank.
① in the case of being admitted for the necessity of a housekeeper like children under the age of 13 or a spouse's disease or occupation.
② Pertaining to the cases on this or have a special need to apply for a housekeeper
- The housekeeper has to be a graduate from junior high school or equivalent of a junior high school scholarship, be between the ages of 20 to 55 (standards of the application), and only possible to apply by sponsor's visa issuance.

6) Those living together with people applicable to diplomacy (A-1), Official Business
(A-2), Conventions/Agreements (A-3) and those that completed foreigner registration

7) Those that had been adopted overseas had have therefore acquired Korean nationality at birth

8] First generation Koreans that immigrated overseas before the establishment of R.O.K government (Aug, 15, 1948)

9) Children of adults that are applicable to Cultural Arts (D-1), Overseas study (D-2), General Training (D-4), Journalism (D-5), Religious affairs (D-6), Supervisory Intra-company Transfer (D-7), Corporate Investment (D8), Trade Management (D-9), Professorship (E-1), Foreign Language Instructor (E-2), Research (E-3), Technology Instructor (E-4), Professional Employment (E-5), Arts/Entertainment (E-6), Specially Designated Activities (E-7) status

10) The spouse or children of those that has Residency (F-2) status
Legal minor that needs to be supported by a parent (parents) that has a Korean nationality, fostering rights and resident address in Korea

11) A Korean with foreign nationality that are the subject for Employment Management System

12) Those that are acknowledged to have acceptable reason(s) to stay in Korea for a long time without being employed.
