Re-post: To all concern Filipinos:

Message: To all concern Filipinos:

I have questions to the bank system in the Philippines.

1. Why do banks impose charges to savings account?

Like, when you put an amount of 5,000 Pesos to your savings account and leave it there for a year or two, and when you check it again its zero account. when you ask the bank why zero account, they tell you that the bank deduct atleast 200 to 300 pesos monthly charges. Why? It is supposedly earning interest instead.

I think this is one reason why majority Filipinos cannot save. In other countries like Europe, Korea or Japan, when you leave $1 in your savings account, it will never go away even afters years and years.

For all I know, majority filipinos do not earn higher than $300 a month. This bank system discourages low earner Filipinos to make little savings every month.

2. Is the Philippine central bank aware of this bank actitivites? or is it the design of the central bank?

3. How could these banks do this to the people? I can imagine how many thousands of Filipinos who put less than 10,000 pesos to their savings account and just realized it later that those amounts are all gone after a year or years because the banks deducted monthly bank charges as they call it...

I think, the banks in the Philippines are legally robbing their people.

4. Is there anyone complaining about this banking system in the Philippines?

This is another shameful act of the Philippine government.
