kabayan,
wala pong interest... you can only receive the cash benefits according to standard computation (pls. refer below)

1) "kukmin" - you will get the lump-sum refund based on the total monthly contribution (9% of your net salary wherein the 50% is from your employer and the other 50% is from your salary)
2) "toejigeum" - you will get cash benefit based on the last 3-months average salary multiplied by number of years of work

Misterdj, are you sure na wala tax yung toejigeum? Kasi dito sa amin ay may tax yung mga toejigeum ng mga kasama ko.

One time, nag search din ako sa internet and I found out the computation of severance pay from Korea as follow:

The formula is :

Severance pay = (((3months salary average x Years of Service )- 600,000 ) - 9%) + 600,000

600,000 is not taxable.

Can you verify this? And can you confirm na talaga wala tax ang severance pay.

hello sir emart,
i didn't say any of my posts here na walang tax ang severance pay or "toejigeum'... tama po kayo... meron pong tax deduction but with regards to the computation, hindi ko pa po alam...

yung sample computation which i posted in other threads... it was purely explaining only on how to get the correct "toejigeum" benefits excluding any tax deduction...

anyway, i'll try also to contact Korea Tax Office hoping to get basic formula... thanks for sharing...

kabayan,
it's better to contact NPS Regional Office to confirm if meron po ba kayong record na nagcontribute ba kayo thru your employer or wala... granting po na hindi kayo nagcontribute, wala po kayong makukuha na NPS but you can also ask to the NPS representative kung pwede ba natin makuha ang employer's share thru any legal actions or means...

please advise saan ka banda nagwork dito para tulungan kita on how to get the phone number of the NPS regional office responsible to your area...
